"One of Peru's loveliest hotels is in the restored 1592 monastery of San Antonio Abad, a national historic monument. Planners managed to retain the austere beauty of the complex -- the lodging even counts the original chapel and its collection of Cusqueño art -- and kept rooms simple and elegant with a mix of colonial and modern furnishings. At night the view of the stars from the main courtyard is truly serene. Eighty rooms can be pressurized much like an airplane cabin to duplicate conditions of those 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) lower than Cusco, the only such hotel system in the world, and an option for which you can pay a 25-percent premium."

The ILLARY Cafeteria, adjacent to the Main Patio, is open 24 hours and is decorated with paintings from the Ancient Cusco Seminary, the ideal place to enjoy a light meal or snack.

SPECIAL EVENTS

The Monasterio Hotel of Cusco has a Conference Hall located in the Monastery Chapel which can accommodate groups of up to 200, together with other rooms are available for meetings, expositions, conventions and congresses.
